Located in the heart of Ambler, Dettera brings the sophistication of big city dining to the suburbs. Centrally located on the main street of the newly revitalized downtown Ambler, Dettera merges progressive American cuisine with wine bar chic in a beautifully restored, historic building.

Dettera evokes a warm, cosmopolitan ambiance with its two-tiered dining space adorned with unique architectural features like exposed trestle ceilings, shadowbox light fixtures, stunning red silk umbrella chandeliers and a custom made wine cellar.

From casual dining on the outside deck with the soaring brick fireplace to the first floor dining level, which opens to a dramatic curving black granite bar and oversized round banquettes, Dettera creates the perfect atmosphere for your dining experience.

A more intimate second floor features a spacious lounge area filled with pillows and low cozy seating that are grounded by a corner fireplace. This upper level also features a service bar, soaring windows overlooking Amber's Main Street and many intimate dining tables spaciously placed alongside the open view of the large bar area below.

At the center of this contemporary, fine dining experience is an ever growing list of the area's best selection of wine. With an offering of over 50 wines by the glass and exceeding 200 by the bottle, Dettera's wine selection represent regions, countries, and varietals from around the world specifically chosen for taste and character. This commitment to great wine is visible by the spectacular vineyard drying rack suspended over the bar that spans the main and second floor dining areas.

In addition to the wine selection, Dettera's seasoned servers can also recommend one of the many specialty cocktails or unique brews from the beer offerings. Experienced servers and bartenders can offer pairing suggestions to go along with great starters like edamame truffles and warm asparagus salad or our entrees and weekly specials.

Executive Chef Jeffrey Power develops his menus using the freshest seasonal ingredients. His New American cuisine is inspired by fresh, clean flavors with a focus on sustainability, locally farmed produce, and the use of our own organic garden. The menu features a wide selection of summertime dishes such as Artisan Thin Crust Pizza with Fig and Baby Arugula, Roasted Lancaster Chicken, Peekeytoe Crab and Melon, and a Roast Corn and Poblano Soup. Other house specialties would include a 12oz Grass Fed Veal Chop, Line Caught Mahi Mahi, and Braised Short Ribs with a Fennel Marmalade.
